We would appreciate help manning the welcome table. Knowledge of iNaturalist and friendly demeanor are very helpful here.

A BioBlitz is a is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area. Split Oak Forest is a conservation park near Narcoossee and Lake Nona. Friends of Split Oak Forest is hosting this BioBlitz. This is the third bioblitz in Split Oak Forest.
You can drop by anytime between 7pm on October 25th through 7pm on October 27th. We will have guided citizen science tours like so:

  1. Friday 7:30pm – Kickoff Blitz (bring a headlamp or flashlight) with Valerie
  2. Saturday 8:00am – Pine Lily Plant Nerd Blitzteam with Tayler and Valerie
  3. Saturday 1:30pm – Introduction to BiobBlitzing with Michael Gaithe
  4. Saturday 3:00pm - Mycoblitz with the Florida Academic Lichen And Fungi Enthusiasts League
  5. Sunday 7:00am – Birding Blitzteam with Lorne Malo
  6. Sunday 5:00pm - Wrap Up Blitz to the Central Ridge with Valerie
