This is the first night of the last round of CFX Public Meetings before the CFX Board votes to continue the Osceola Parkway Extension on to PD&E. Only one alignment in this public presentation avoids Split Oak (East 6) but it unnecessarily takes homes in Lake Ajay Village. The road could avoid both Split Oak and Lake Ajay Village with a much larger buffer, like in the E-1 alignment proposed by the Osceola County Expressway Authority. For a more detailed analysis, please see our blog post.
This road would connect the airport to the 417 and the 417 to Narcoossee Road/SR-15. The part of the road that would go through Split Oak and disturb Lake Ajay Village (the Eastern Extension) is not necessary to improve regional connectivity and is being considered only to benefit a single landowner and developer. The Eastern Extension would only increase congestion in the area by enabling suburban sprawl to continue to the east.
This is very important for nearby residents and concerned citizens to attend and submit written comments.
The event photo shows a drone shot of the kickoff location - Saint Cloud High School. Follow the signs to the cafeteria.
